Jon Leatherwood

Born into a military family in 1953, Jon lived in five states across the Southwest before settling in Austin, Texas when he was twelve. Born with an artistic bent, he adopted photography as his medium of expression in the early 1970s. He studied art and filmmaking at the University of Texas Austin and photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. He has trained informally with Ansel Adams, Jerry Uelsmann, Paul Caponigro, and others. He currently lives in Chesterfield County, Virginia with his wife Joyce and their numerous dogs, cats, and horses.
