Nancy Reddy

Nancy writes, "I was raised Catholic, and though I’m no longer practicing, I’ve retained some version of Catholicism’s faith in the body as the site of miracles. Motherhood – both the bodily labor of pregnancy, labor, nursing, and seeing my own children become strange and specific creatures – has further attuned me to the ordinary and daily miracles of the body. My younger son, approaching three, likes to pull up our shirts and lie on top of me with his belly button on top of my belly button; that animal contact, that skin-on-skin, feels to me like a kind of sacred practice."
