A penny more for not treating hens terribly? Seems like a good deal to me. Check out this NY Times article on how California is leading the way in mandating that chickens have enough space “to stand up, lie down — even extend their wings fully without touching another bird.”
I’d be up for paying a penny more for treating a living, breathing, created animal with some sense of respect. Oh, and most agree those eggs taste better, too. A win all around.
