Laetiporus sulphureus, known commonly as Chicken of the Woods, found growing on an oak tree on the campus of Princeton Theological Seminary. It gets its name because when sliced, the flesh resembles cooked white chicken meat. And yes, it’s edible! Some say it even tastes like chicken (which I take to mean no distinctive taste).
